Click here for ongoing Yoga class schedule SPECIAL EVENTS: Vedic Conservatory Friday 5/21 - Sunday 5/23 Times:
In this workshop, students will spend the weekend giving and receiving Thai-Yoga Bodywork with the skillful and confident guidance of Yoga Christy, a Vedic Conservatory Certified Thai Instructor and 10-year practitioner of the art. Students will receive detailed instruction, hands-on assistance, a take-home manual for note-taking, and a certificate of participation. Class material covers all four traditional attitudes: laying supine, prone, side-lying, and seated. After this workshop, participants will feel relaxed, inspired, and ready to start sharing their new Thai-Yoga skills with their friends, family, or clients. What makes Thai-Yoga different from Massage? Receiving a Thai-Yoga Bodywork session is much like having Yoga done TO you -- hence its nickname, "Lazy Man's Yoga." Because Thai-Yoga uses stretching and joint-mobilization in addition to squeezing muscles, the receiver walks away feeling lighter, looser, and taller -- much like after a good Yoga session. Deep breathing and the rhythmic flow and progressive surrender of control during the session also create a state of profound meditation and inspired tranquility. Who will benefit from this workshop? Thai techniques are a welcome addition to the therapeutic toolbox of any Yoga Instructor, Personal Trainer, Physical Therapist, or Massage Therapist. All lovers of movement, such as Yogis, Dancers, and Martial Artists will feel a natural affinity to Thai-Yoga because of its flowing sequencing, choreographed asanas, and emphasis on creating an intuitive union between giver and receiver. The course offers CEC's for both NCBTMB and THAI.
But in reality, no experience or professional inclinations are needed, just a sincere desire to help others feel their best. Couples and families benefit greatly from the sharing the loving touch of Thai Bodywork. Sharing in this way with those you love is a wonderful experience which deepens intimacy and enhances communication and sensitivity. In Thailand, bodywork is a traditional folk art, enjoyed by everyday people, and Christy conveys this naturalness in her teaching and mastery of the art. Many people take this course just to enjoy receiving lots of Thai-Yoga Bodywork themselves, which of course benefits our own body balance and peace-of-mind as receivers. Students often take the class expecting to learn a skill and are surprised to discover how much they receive as well as learn! The course also provides a delightful opportunity to meet other generous and spiritual people in the class, and students usually end up with not only practice colleagues but great new friends as well! Please join us for a truly empowering experience! 16 hour course includes certificate and take-home study manual.
